Eumenorrhea with Absence of Dysmenorrhea

Eumenorrhea with Absence of Dysmenorrhea

Research
Women at coastal areas experience less pain during menstruation. Our research investigates this phenomenon by studying the link between dysmenorrhea and prostaglandin levels. By studying women without pain, we aim to reveal lower or differently regulated prostaglandin activity. We apply the Biocultural theory to investigate how culture, nutrition, physical activity, and stress management influence menstrual health.
Study of Pain Hypersensitivity in Non-noxious Stimuli

Study of Pain Hypersensitivity in Non-noxious Stimuli

Research
Our research combines physical stimulation with subjective reporting to analyze pain perception. We conduct interviews and case studies with chronic pain patients to understand the lived experience of allodynia. This study focuses on people with chronic pain, investigating how non-harmful stimuli can trigger pain responses and exploring potential interventions to improve quality of life.
Neonatal Nociception Studies

Neonatal Nociception Studies

Research
Our research explores how newborns perceive and respond to paina field known as neonatal nociception. Using advanced, non-invasive technologies such as EEG, near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS), and heart rate monitoring, we study the brain and physiological responses of infants to potentially painful stimuli. We also apply validated tools like the Premature Infant Pain Profile (PIPP) and facial expression analysis to assess behavioral cues. Grounded in theories of neurodevelopment, nociceptive pathway maturation, and pain memory, our work aims to improve how neonatal pain is recognized, measured, and managed, ensuring better outcomes for the most vulnerable.
